ACLS on AED

wow.. it had been quite some time since i last updated my blog.Honestly i just could not find the time to sit in front of this PC and write. I guess i was too tired and busy at the same time.
Last Friday and Saturday ; i was attending the ACLS ( Advanced Cardiac Life Support ) course. As an anaesthetist trainee ; such skill and knowledge is expected of us. I haven't gone through this course since my medical school days. It was interesting though , as the group comprised of us anaesthetists , surgeons , A&E trainees , nurses and MAs. It was a fun group and i did enjoy the 2 days ; eventhough i had to cramp most of the knowledge for the exam last saturday.
The most interesting part was the megacode : the practical session with scenarios ! It was really kewl as we played along with the dummy who has his own pulse and ECG rhythm. It became a bit of a joke when everybody was more keen to defibrillate the dummy then to just do normal CPR ! haks.. everytime it was a VT or VF , we went.. aaaaahhh... zapping time... heks..
Overall it was good fun and i learned a lot. i almost realize that most of my resuscitation thus far; macam belasah jer la.. heks.. well , i've learned the correct way now ; thus no more excuses for any muck up..
