My own intrepretation -Part 1

PRU 12 - 8 / 3 / 2008.
Results ? A Political Tsunami they called it ; even the oppositions did not expect such swing. They managed to achieve their lifetime goal of denying 2/3 majority which most analyst thought something impossible to do. Capturing Kedah , Perak and Selangor was a bonus ; don't think they were prepared about forming state governments unlike Penang which looked doomed since Koh Tsu Koon's uncharismatic takeover of Gerakan leadership. It was certainly a handsome win if one would like to compare in the long history of oppositions. What was achieved in this election is a dream for Dato Onn , Ahmad Boestamam , Tan Chee Koon etc. I must say , the way they captured victory is impressive.
This election is a total disaster for BN. As how in the yesteryears , proudly saying before polling that holding the 2-3rd majority will never be a problem was disproved. Losing states which were thought to be strongholds is like a big slap to the face. They thought they were going to capture Kelantan , but ending up losing 4 other states ! Pak Lah is shattered and this is a very hard time for him. His senior partners in MIC and Gerakan were obviously ousted by the people's power. Democratically voted out - a show of displeasure and dissatisfaction since he came out to say " BEKERJALAH DENGAN SAYA , BUKAN UNTUK SAYA". What went wrong ? They really need to review and do a proper post mortem to identify truthfully the cause. It can be so obvious to soem but as how we like to live in denial will be the question.
The results also showed how literally the ruling party went to sleep in the last 4 years. Hearing Tun M's press conference today ; asking Pak Lah to resign is not helping either. The Barisan Nasional is at its weakest at the moment. Unprecedented loss of Shahrizat , Aziz Shamsuddin is a wake up call if he is not already awake. Samy Vellu and Koh Tsu Koon architectured their own downfall ; making unpopular decisions and living in denial. People were not happy. Internal bickering , self sabotage maybe the main factor of why Selangor and Perak were lost . Lost to greediness , self interest and power crazy ; as how it was showed so obviously on the eve of nomination day for Perlis.
By next week , we will know who will lead the unconventional non-partisan government in the numbered states ; and I can imagine the main agenda in their first year will be STATE CLEANSING . I guess this is when we will see Anwar and Ezam's promised boxes to be revealed..

The strong must protect the weak. The majority must strive to protect the minority. Power is not for glory, power is always to exercise responsibility. The strongest party brandishing weapons during their AGM, the longest serving minister boasting and saying that an army can come an oust him, all these are uncalled for. What happened to humility? Whatever happened to accountability? The opposition had an easy job,the government did this to themselves. A lot of good leaders became victims yesterday, collateral damage. I dont know how the newly powerfull are going to behave.....

Salam Dr :)

Looks like Malaysia has indeed rocket to the moon! In less than 6 months at that. :)

My personal concerns over the last 4 years are:

Rising price - over spending

While the rakyat is told to be wise in spending, yet the auditors general report raises questions. So may I say this clear: THE GOV NEED TO SPEND EFFICIENTLY. STOP THE WASTAGE.

For (1), I personally question the need for the many many self potrait leaders posters. I see too many of their face posters during the last 4 years. These is may I call cosmetic spending. The money could have been better used.

(2) I did initially support the Angkasawan Progamme, but how it turns out is below expectation. I have hoped it would propell more scientists into the limelight, get more funding into research, open interaction between rakyat, industry & the scientific community - forging bonds & gaps. Still...

Yes, Dr SMS & Dr Halina maybe one of the most gorgeous people in the nation. Still dearest Msia & gov, frankly we're a nation of not so gorgeous race. Will such fawn help our race compete globally. We're already outrunned by Iran, a country under sanction. Under sanction. It recently launched her own research rocket. & they are born handsome at that! :)

I hope Dr SMS could please kindly do things like - introduce the research community; seek research, medical fundings; support underprivileged kids education etc. He doesn't need to enter politics. The Angkasawan needs to be neutral.

(3) The Auditors general report of overpricing is just, I don't have to be chinese to be dislike it.

(4) The collapsing buildings - construction material, labour etc doesn't come free.

Etc.

Although, I have to praise the medical expenses. Keeping it low & affordable. Very good! I love it. One of the good spending for the rakyat.

Still. The image is dented. The rakyat is tightening their needs, so the gov MUST tighten the way they're using OUR tax money.

Dr Mahathir's criticism

Dr M's criticism may also raises questions of how the government rule. :T

Anyway... that's an instant personal view. I'm sorry if I hurt, it is not in my intention. I only hope BN will mend itself & truly listen to the rakyat.

I'm sorry again if i hurt.

The media also raises the race cards. My sister is Malay, a best student & she's just as disenchanted. Me & my ex-boss (malay) too applied jobs many times from JPA & failed the exams.

Being seen as a pampered race is not roses. I've truly felt my abilities questioned, as being Malay is supposedly having it easy. & the stigma of laziness etc. :R

Only God Knows Best. :)

I'd love to pinpoint that the media bias news coverage made me sick. It's ok to bit bias but i think the UMNO led maintream medias went overboard. One reason why my vote was with the opposition

UMNO: Address that. The rakyat are not stupid you see
